Plant Sample Submission 2.1.2

The Sample Submission app provides a valuable resource for professionals such as farmers, gardeners, landscapers, arborists, and agricultural specialists, enabling them to submit digital photo samples to a university plant diagnostic laboratory for analysis and identification.

It is important to note that some laboratories may impose a sample submission fee; therefore, users should refer to the respective lab's website for detailed fee information.

The application includes sample submission forms designed for a diverse range of plants, from small houseplants to extensive agronomic crops. Users complete each form by responding to a series of straightforward, customized questions. Following the description of the issue and the attachment of relevant photographs, the completed submission is forwarded to the chosen diagnostic laboratory.

The following laboratories accept submissions through this app, with specific exceptions for Kentucky and New Hampshire:

• University of Illinois Extension
• University of Kentucky Plant Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (County ANR/HORT Agents Only)
• Michigan State University Diagnostic Services Laboratory
• University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension Plant Diagnostic Lab (UNHCE Field & State Specialists only)
• Ohio State University C. Wayne Ellet Plant and Pest Diagnostic Clinic
• Oklahoma State University – Plant Disease and Insect Diagnostic Lab
• Purdue University Plant and Pest Diagnostic Laboratory

It is noteworthy that Kentucky and New Hampshire labs restrict sample submissions to certified agents or specialists possessing the requisite passcode.

Submissions are transmitted via the user's device email application, requiring an active email account on the device. Additionally, international submissions are not permitted.
